OCD.

Today I am just going to keep going off tangents about what happened the past week until I am satisfied. Yesterday (Friday) was a really good day. Went to CS, didn’t go to my interview at the Lawrence Hall of Science, worked out, played tennis (with the randomest people!), and then went over to Jennifer’s place for authentic Korean food, made especially by Jessica for Jennifer and me :D . I normally don’t like kimchi, but boy, was that kimchi good! I forgot what day it was, but I suddenly had the urge to mass send out my resume. I think it was Monday or Tuesday. So after sending out my resume to like 8 different places, I waited. After about an hour, I got a call!!! It was from the College of Chemistry! :] She said she was surprised at how much experience I had (…I didn’t have any), and went on to explain the job to me and what was expected, and then told me to send her my schedule. I did, and she said she would get back to me for sure by Thursday. She made it seem very likely I would be hired, so I was extremely excited. The position consists of filing paperwork and whatnot, but it’s $12/hr!! I was so excited that I was prancing around my room like a kid who gets her first unicorn (true story bro). The next day, however, I checked my email only to find that three other places I applied to replied to my emails. The first was the Lawrence Hallf of Science, where I would be a store cashier (they sell tons of cool, nerdy stuff!!!!!!!), the second was the Ethnic Studies Library, and the third was a rejection email from Cal Athletics (the positions were already filled :[). I was really, really ecstatic to find that I had a chance for the LHS job. I replied immediately and scheduled an interview (the guy seemed really cool, too!). Then came the bad news. I had already told the CoC (college of chem) lady that I would be able to start on Monday, but she hadn’t replied to me yet. Also, I found out that the LHS is half an hour away, which would mean commuting an hour a day to get to work. Took a lot of debating and sadness, but I finally chose the CoC job, and emailed the LHS person that I would not be going to the interview. I was really sad because it sounded so fun (and also because he replied to said email with “no worries” at the end… WHAT NONCOOL PERSON SAYS THAT?!?!). Sadlifeeeee! If LHS was closer, I definitely would have wanted to try for it. So yes, I now work at the CoC.

Ethnic Studies is weird. Very weird. Blah blah blah, weird class. We had an assignment to draw a something from memory that represented who we were, like our past (ancestors and whatnot). I drew the Petronas Towers! :) And then we had to find the picture on the internet and print it out in color.

This didn’t come out the way I wanted it to when I printed it. My printer has been on the fritz, so it printed only in blue, with random gray areas. -.- It looked really good still, so I turned it in. Instead of a 6-page midterm paper, groups could elect to do a 2-3 minute video on diversity and stuff, which everyone chose to do. But at the last minute, she changed the project to just a video of our drawings, our printout, and us saying a few words on what it means to us. LOL. Ahahahaha, I like this class. Except for the fact that it’s 4 hours long.

Today Carol and I went to 99 Ranch Market. Got veggies, meat, and some other stuff. I got meat from the meat section!!! I asked the guy in Cantonese. So epic, man! I think he was really surprised that I actually spoke to him in Canto. :) I am now proud of myself. Cooking later tonight.

We had a debate in my Ethnic Studies class about race vs. ethnicity, like which one is better, less discriminatory, whatever. Someone brought up that they learned in Athropology that there is only one race, human race. That really made everyone raise their hands. Also, I haven’t been posting freewrites here because the topics are all so boring now… topics like race, ethnicity, ancestors… =\

On the other hand, some of my group members and I have a mini tradition! Gypsy’s for dinner :) I have now tried Gypsy’s pizza and calzone for the very first timeee!! I finished the calzone all by myself too! Success. Bahahahahaha.

Today I listened to my inner OCD voice and cleaned the kitchen. I scrubbed the stove until it was white again. I never felt more accomplished :) . I like to clean. I like clean things. I don’t think I’m OCD though, I just like clean things, and have a very high standard for it. I think that’s why I like to wash dishes; I get to make them spotless. I get to make sure it’s really clean.

Summer school is almost ending!!! That makes me so sad… I really like summer school!! Or maybe it’s just the apartment life… or maybe its the classes I’m taking :D . Who knowssssssss.
